Lesson 1 FIRST CONTACTS.Basic vocabulary + Greetings and Good-Byes

I'm really happy that finally we can start learning German together!

At the beginning I have few information about my online course.

All lessons I will begin with a theory that you should read, repeat and try to remember. Next step - in every online lesson you will find some multimedia activities which I create on eduplay platform, you don't need to register or sign up so I invite you to learn with all activities that I will prepare- it's comfortable, and it's fun.

In the first lessons I would like to introduce one of the basic topics : FIRST CONTACTS.
Because I believe that too much of new theory is not a good thing, I devided this subject into several smaller parts:

1. Basic vocabulary + Greetings and Good-Byes
2. Conjugation of the verb  SEIN
3. Conjugation of  the verb KOMMEN
4. Conjugation of the verb  WOHNEN
5. Conjugation of  the verb SPRECHEN
6. Conjugation of  the verb HEIßEN
7. Meeting new people

Let's start with the first part!

Activity 1 - basic vocabulary

Some of greetings are shorter, more colloquial and you shouldn't use them in a conversation with older people or your superiors, but rather with friends or family.

colloquial: Servus! Hi! Hey! - Hi! / Hey!

 Hallo! - Hello!
Wilkommen - Welcome
Guten Morgen - Good Morning  ; colloquial: Morgen!

Guten Abend - Good evening  ; colloquial: N'Abend!

Now, after greeting someone maybe you would like to continue with asking  "how are you?"

colloquial: Wie geht's dir ? - How are you?

It's a short version of  "Wie geht es dir?" which actually nobody is using so you just should connect geht +  es = geht's     WIE GEHT'S DIR?

If you are talking to any person who is hierarchically higher, or to an adult that you don't know very well, you should use "Wie geht's Ihnen?"

Danke, gut / Gut, danke - Good, thank you.

Ganz gut -  Pretty good
Ganz okay - Pretty okay
